This weekend we headed to Bathurst Royal where Castro was Best of Breed.... This was Castro's last weekend of showing - Castro, is yet again # 1 male Weimaraner, # 2 Nationally DOL breed pointscore... and #6 All breeds Nationally. We could not be prouder of what this dog has achieved. He will now retire from the weekly round of shows and will only be shown at the NSW Specialty and Sydney Royal and the 2010 Australian Weimaraner National. After these shows, he will fly out for new adventures and achievements across the seas. Aust Ch Ghostwind Smokin Gun "Castro" BEST EXHIBIT IN GROUP - 135 Gundogs Baby Charlotte Baby of Breed.... a very hot day, we were glad to get home to the air con! 18 February 2010  COMING SOON TO GREYDOVE Uno - Ch Ghostwind Unomy Numba – will be residing at Castle Hill and will be actively campaigned and handled by Samantha King. Uno will come back with us from the National in Adelaide. Uno has a fabulous pedigree – being by Ghostwind’s American import Mac, AmCh CanCh Aust Grand Ch Graytsky’s Smokin in Havana - Mac has of course returned to the US a fact that the US breeders have not been slow to recognise. His dam is the oh so beautiful Pip - MBISS/MBIS Ch. Ghostwind Picture Perfect.  A stunning dog with substance and style, he is sure to make an impact on the show scene together with our beautiful Margeaux, Rissana Hillwood’s Perfect Harmony @ Greydove, who will be arriving from the US early July. What a fantastic duo to have out in the show ring and as well as these 2 beautiful dogs we have our 2 Uno babies – Ava and Charlotte What a team for 2010! 14 February 2010 Happy Valentines Day!! I don't think we have quite seen so much rain and its made for some very 'interesting' dog shows...soaked to the skin !! Castro has held his own with a Best of Breed & Runner up in recent weeks There are a couple of babies out in Sydney at present. Charlotte is doing well as Baby of Breed in 2 of the last 3 shows. Last night there were as many babies entered as class dogs which is nice to see . It's been a while since so many babies were out! Our Lagotto, Gabi , will be heading to America to become the foundation for a new kennel (very experienced in other breeds) along with an Italian imported dog. We are looking forward to seeing how we can help assist in establishing the breed in America further. We have exported a few Lagotti to America now. Other than that, we don't have alot to report. Additions to the team The year began with lot of excitement as we confirmed the addition of Margeaux, Rissana Hillwood’s Perfect Harmony at Greydove, to our show team, Margeaux has had a successful show year and with only one major to finish her title, will arrive in June 2010. Mid year in conjunction with Waldwiese Weimaraners, Waldwiese Zsa Zsa Gabor AI came along and will feature in our breeding program. Lastly, for the year we have 2 new lovely girls from Ghostwind, Ava & Charlotte to join Castro for 2010 making up our showteam. Margeaux will join the team in July when she emerges from Quarantine. Oh and we may just have a new little man arriving  In the show/performance rings Our star performer for 2009 - Castro, MBISS CH Ghostwind Smokin Gun # 1 Weimaraner Male for 2009 # 1 Weimaraner New South Wales # 2 Weimaraner in Australia 2 x Best in Specialty Shows for 2009 & 1 x Runner up !!! We had some very clever dogs competing in performance this year. Multi titled Ch Greydove Lord Oth Rings CDX ET, Greydove Beldale Baron CD ET, Greydove Cognac In Cream CDX, Greydove Giacinta JD and Multi titled CH Greydove Donatella. In the showrings. the Weimaraners shown were CH Greydove Lord Oth Rings, Greydove Brandy Coral and Greydove Blue Moon and a new Australian Champion, Greydove Diorissimo. We also bred another American Champion, Greydove Ekahi Melody AI, and are very proud of “Tita”, BIS/BISS CH Greydove 'Ekahi Island Gal who earned her BROM. Tita is the first Australian bred Weimaraner to earn this title. She actually holds the "first" for many awards in the USA. These include AB Best in Show & Specialty BIS wins and multi invitations to the WCA Invitational Top 20 & the Eukanuba International Invitation. What a great advertisement for Australian Weimaraners and Greydove in particular. And the Lagottos, CH Greydove Gianni, Greydove Pasqua Faith, Greydove Pasqua Radar, Greydove Pasqua Shiana, Greydove Jasmine and Greydove Angelina Jolie were shown around the country. Our Lakeland “Rosie” CH Rayfos Mini Driver Imp UK also made up her championship and finished the year with 250 challenge points! So, it was a good year! Thank you to all the owners who help make Greydove the kennel that it is. |
