Our Introduction to this Breed

In 2002 we became interested in the Lagotto as a breed, finding it a smaller, and as you can see, most attractive breed of Gundog. In July 2002, we attended the World Dog Show in Amsterdam. There were many breeders of Lagotti at the World Dog Show and we were able to speak to them about the breed and also to admire the variety of colours. Upon our return to Australia we decided that we would definitely like to add the Lagotti to Greydove.

We purchased a puppy, Tia, bred by Jocelyn Cansdell and Margaret Giles of Tartufo Kennels. We campaigned this puppy to her title, Australian Champion Tartufo Giovanna. Late in 2004, we also purchased Australian Champion Tartufo Aida to further our breeding program.

Greydove's first Lagotti litter was born in 2004. In 2006 our first imported stud dog arrived, the now CH Kan Trace at Greydove (Imp Croatia).  In 2007 our first bitch also imported from Croatia, Kan Trace Greydove Gabriella arrived.

2007 also saw us buy another male with completely new lines (Italian/Finnish) from Margaret Giles for use as a stud dog in Tartufo Fabrizio.

Please enjoy our pages about this wonderful breed and feel free to contact us about the breed or about puppies or fill in our puppy application form.
