Greydove

Our trip to Connecticut to visit with Alessandra and her Marge babies was sure to be a quick one. We arrived on 11 Feb and flew back out on 18 Feb.

We had a tight schedule planned beginning with a via San Fran flight to Boston and our trip out to Connecticut was to begin on Thursday 12th.  Firstly, we must thank our kind friend Peter King who arranged our terrific flight so we each had a row each for the trip over to SF. We then had a short layover before our flight to Boston but there we hit the problem when they cancelled the plane and re-routed us through Chicago (our favourity airport, not) ... by the time we got to Chicago our connection had left and along with 150 other passengers we had to stay the night in Chicago. Great, Val and I had only our handbags, I didn't even have socks on and Val didn't even have a jacket so off to the souvenior shop for a change of tshirt and a jacket then in minus degress to some hotel for a 3 hour sleep before the 6 am to Boston.

We did eventually get there.  Amazingly the snow was still around and the further into the countryside we went the more beautiful it was, I have never been travelling in the snow aside the school trip to Thredbo but we were in the back woods of Connecticut with frozen lakes and some of the most beautiful driving through small towns I have seen.  I didn't manage to take alot of photos but a few are posted.

We spent our time at a little B&B Elias Child which was very quaint before visiting with Alessandra and some friends to see her beautiful litter.

On the Saturday we had to visit the dog show on in Hartford which was indoors.

We flew out of Boston on the Saturday evening for LA and drove out to Vegas on Sunday morning. Such a contrast to drive through the desert after all the snow but so beautiful as the snow capped moutain peaks beyond Vegas kept the temperatures very cool - no pool sitting here!!!
